Holly Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2020, at the age of 95. Holly was born on October 28, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Charles and Gladys (nee Wilcox) Smith. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1942.

Holly married Gerald “Jerry” Obituary on September 2, 1950; they shared nearly 50 wonderful years together until his passing in 1999. Holly was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young but later worked as a bookkeeper for Jerry’s business. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling with Jerry, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, playing cards and Mahjongg with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; son Scott; parents Charles and Gladys Smith; and siblings Nancy Hockaday and Charles Smith Jr. Holly is survived by her daughter Shelley (Mike) Morrissey; grandchildren Erin (Joey) Travaglini , Kevin Morrissey , Shannon Morrissey ; great-grandchildren Lauren , Chase , Olivia , Sophia , Kylie , Gavin ; nieces Jill (Gary) Newell , Barb (Jim) Adkins ; nephews Chuck (Donna) Hockaday , Steve (Kimberly) Hockaday ; sister-in-law Doreen Obituary ; and many other loving family members and friends . A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 7th at St James Catholic Church 300 N Larchmont Blvd Los Angeles CA 90004 .

The family will receive guests prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 am also at the church . Interment will follow immediately after the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills 6300 Forest Lawn Dr Los Angeles CA 90068 .
